Enghien-les-Bains at a glance
Enghien-les-Bains is a town in the Val-d'Oise built around a lake. It has thermal baths, a spa and a casino, and it is an easy trip from Paris on line H. This guide is independent and not run by the town, the thermal baths, the casino or any operator. Prices and hours are the published ones for 2026 and can change.
Four things draw visitors: a boat on the lake, a walk along the Boulevard du Lac, the spa and the casino. The thermal baths are a treatment center, not a public bathing complex. Read the notes below before you plan the day.

Good to know in 2026
Three points that affect the trip.
The Grand Hôtel Barrière is closed
Le Grand Hôtel Barrière has taken no overnight guests since 20 July 2026 because of a renovation. Reopening is announced for 2028. The spa and the casino stay open, according to the operator. Do not book that hotel for a stay.
Where to stay →Seasons
The thermal baths list a 2026 season from 2 March to 19 December. The boat rental runs from 2 April to 1 November 2026.
Swimming in the lake
Plan boats and walks, not swimming. Follow the signs at the water.

Lac d'Enghien: pedal boats and electric boats
A boat rental on the lake offers pedal boats and an electric boat. It is at the Esplanade Patenôtre Desnoyers, 93 rue du Général de Gaulle, and the season runs from 2 April to 1 November 2026. Children from 3 years can ride, with at least one adult in each boat. A life jacket is provided and compulsory. Dogs are not allowed.
The published hours differ. One table shows every day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The text gives 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily in school holidays (zone C), July and August, and weekends and public holidays only, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., outside holidays, with the last departure at 6 p.m. Check the day you plan to go and do not assume a daily service.

Les Thermes d'Enghien-les-Bains
The thermal baths are run by ValVital at 38 avenue de Malleville. The 2026 season runs from 2 March to 19 December. The offers are respiratory care and short cures. There is no public thermal pool with a single entry price, so do not plan this as a swim.
The Barrière spa
The spa is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. You need swimwear and bath sandals, and sandals can be rented for €3. The spa states an age limit of over 16. Ask at the desk if you are close to that age.

Getting to Enghien-les-Bains
One train line from Paris-Nord.
Take line H from Paris-Nord to Enghien-les-Bains. The tourist office gives about 15 minutes, which is a guide value and not a timetable guarantee. Since 1 January 2026 the standard Métro-Train-RER ticket costs €2.55, and airport trips are priced separately. Cardboard tickets you already hold are valid until 14 December 2026. Details are on the getting there page.
The Grand Hôtel is closed to overnight guests, so look at other areas for a stay. You can also pair the lake with another trip on line H, such as Écouen.
