L'Isle-Adam and its beach on the Oise
L'Isle-Adam is a town in the Val-d'Oise on the banks of the Oise, with a state forest close by. Its summer draw is the municipal beach, often called the "plage fluviale" or river beach. The name is misleading. It is a leisure site on the riverbank with swimming pools. You swim in the pools, not in the river, so do not plan on swimming freely in the Oise. Boat and paddle activities do take place on the Oise.
The dates below belong to the 2026 season, which ended on August 31. No pool opening is set after that date for 2026. For a visit in autumn or spring, count on the forest and the riverbanks, and check the town's calendar for the next season.

Before you come: safety, forest and access
The beach rules and a few pointers for a walk.
Beach rules
Children under 10 must be with a responsible adult. Swim shorts and board shorts are banned in the pools. Wear briefs or boxer-style trunks, or a one- or two-piece swimsuit. Children under 5 need a flotation aid. Lifeguards do not replace parental supervision.
Pools and river
The Bassin Plage measures 40 m by 20 m, and the Bassin Record sits next to it. Pedal boats, paddleboards and canoes go out on the Oise. Do not read the name "river beach" as permission to swim in the river.
The L'Isle-Adam state forest
The forest is a state forest in the Val-d'Oise, managed by the national forest service. Before a walk, check the 2026/2027 hunting calendar published for state forests, and do not rely on old hunting notices from the previous season. Do not confuse this forest with the La Roche-Guyon regional forest, which has its own calendar, explained on the Vexin page.
Getting there by train
L'Isle-Adam-Parmain station is on Transilien line H. Check the timetable for your day before you go, as no journey time is given here. Lines and 2026 fares are covered on the getting to Val-d'Oise page.

Compare the family rate with single tickets
For 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 to 13, single tickets add up to €66 (2 × €21 and 2 × €12). The family rate is €50. Children under 5 are free.
Keep the afternoon for the water
Boats can be rented from 2 p.m., with a last start at 6 p.m. For a pedal boat or a paddle, plan the afternoon. Mini-golf costs €8 if children are waiting for their turn.
Outside the summer
The pools are not open after August 31, 2026. For an autumn outing, the forest is the better option, with an eye on the hunting calendar.
