Following Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise
Vincent van Gogh moved into the Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-sur-Oise on 20 May 1890. He lived in room no. 5 and died in Auvers the same year. Today the visit comes down to three places: the inn room, the cemetery where Vincent and his brother Theo lie, and the church that Van Gogh painted.
All three are close together in the village. The inn room is open only from March to November. For the other things to see in the village, read the page on Auvers-sur-Oise.

Van Gogh's room at Auberge Ravoux
Van Gogh's house is the inn where he rented his room. Under the roof, the attic measures about 7 m². It is empty: this is a place of memory, not a museum with paintings hung in the room. If you are looking for canvases, you will not find them here.
The commented visit, with a film, takes about 30 minutes. It runs from 4 March to 22 November 2026, Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 1:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The last visits start at 11:45 a.m. and at 6 p.m. The inn is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Groups of up to 20 people must book ahead. Individual visitors can book online.
2026 prices: €10 full price, €8 for students, holders of a disability card and ages 12 to 17. Free under 12.

Lunch or a snack at the inn
The restaurant and the room are two separate visits.
The inn also works as a restaurant, at 52 to 56 rue du Général de Gaulle, on the Place de la Mairie. In the 2026 season calendar it is open Wednesday to Sunday from noon to 6:30 p.m., with last orders at 6 p.m. Dinner is only served when the room is booked for a private event. A seat in the restaurant does not give access to the room: you book the room visit separately.
Van Gogh's grave in Auvers cemetery
Vincent van Gogh is buried in the Auvers cemetery on the Avenue du Cimetière. His brother Theo lies next to him. Theo was moved there in 1914.
Opening hours at the gate can vary, so check on the day of your visit, and keep the quiet that a working cemetery asks for.

Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption
The church in Auvers, on the Place de l'Église, is the one Van Gogh painted. Its original name is Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption. The parish gives opening hours of 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, except on days when a festival takes over the building. Mass is on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and is not a time for sightseeing.
There is no Van Gogh painting in the church. The interest is the building itself, seen from outside. Check whether the interior is open during a service or a festival.

Exhibitions in 2026
Two exhibitions are announced, with no Van Gogh canvases.
At Château d'Auvers
"Van Gogh influenceur, héritages en mouvement" runs from 18 April 2026 to 3 January 2027. It shows no original work by Van Gogh. Full price is €12. Details are on the page on Auvers-sur-Oise.
At Dr. Gachet's house
"L'art de la gravure, chez le docteur Gachet" is announced from 8 August to 1 November 2026. Free guided visits tied to the event do not replace the house's normal entry fee, €5 at full price.
